Elements from various security agencies carried out the detention of an alleged criminal leader in the state of Guanajuato. After signaling him to stop, the driver attempted to escape but was captured in an operational deployment. In the car, an arsenal was found that included a long weapon, three magazines, 50 cartridges, one kilogram of methamphetamine, 45 doses of marijuana, and a cell phone, with an approximate value in the illicit market of 299,549 pesos.
Authorities have linked the detainee, identified as Christian 'N', to homicide and drug trafficking activities in the region. He is pointed out as the head of a criminal cell dedicated to homicide and the coordination of drug sales for a criminal group operating in the area. After his capture, Christian 'N' was made available to the Public Prosecutor's Office to determine his legal situation and initiate an investigation regarding this matter.
The governor of Guanajuato, Libia García, mentioned that the detentions of criminal leaders are a fundamental strategy in the fight against crime in the region. She highlighted the importance of not only arresting the lowest links in the criminal chain but also going after the heads of criminal organizations. She also reported that, in addition to the capture of Christian 'N', there were other significant arrests during the weekend, which will be revealed in due course.
The operation to arrest Christian 'N' was carried out by elements from different security institutions, such as Sedena, Semar, FGR, National Guard, and SSPC. The capture took place in Dolores Hidalgo, following intelligence work that allowed for the identification of his location. The deployment included both fixed and mobile surveillance, as well as the use of technology to locate the alleged criminal leader.
During the detention, security forces intercepted a vehicle with tinted windows that matched the reports from the investigation. The operation allowed for the seizure of a significant arsenal with drugs and weapons, which represents a major blow to the criminal cell led by Christian 'N'.
